The conference programme is now available here.

About the conference

The 30th Postgraduate Combinatorial Conference (PCC) will be held at the University of Warwick in April of 2026. Registrations are now closed.

The PCC is a well-established three-day event promoted by the British Combinatorial Committee. The conference is organised by, and for, current research students in all areas of combinatorial and discrete mathematics. The PCC is mainly aimed at UK-based students but is also open to those from abroad.

The main goal of the conference is to provide an opportunity for research students to discuss their research in a relaxed environment, to gain practice at presenting their research outside of their own department and to meet other researchers in their area. Each student is encouraged to contribute by giving a talk.

Invited Speakers

Our invited speakers will present talks with a tutorial aspect to it.

Julia Böttcher

London School of Economics and Political Science

A bipartite version of the Bollobás–Eldridge–Catlin conjecture.

Jan Volec

Czech Technical University in Prague

Lopisded Local Lemma in the setting of random injections.

Keith Ball

University of Warwick

Isoperimetric principles in combinatorics and analysis.

Candida Bowtell

University of Birmingham

Applications and extensions of the Rödl Nibble.

Accommodation

Participants are expected to arrange their own accommodation. There are numerous affordable accommodation options in Coventry city centre, which is only a 20-minute bus (12X) away from campus.

We reserved on-campus accommodation for up to 9 students, spread across three of our Maths Houses. The cost is £25 per person, per night. Occupants may check in on Tuesday, 14th March and are required to vacate the accommodation by 10:00 on Friday, 17 March. If you are interested, please inquire by email as soon as possible. These rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Venue

The conference will be held in room MS.01 of the Zeeman Building, which houses the Mathematics Institute at the University of Warwick.

Contributed Talks

Attendees are strongly encouraged to give a 20-minute (plus 5 minutes for questions) talk related to their interests/research in combinatorics. Although we will try to accommodate all talks, in (the unlikely) case that we receive more submissions than slots, abstracts will be selected at the discretion of the organisers. The deadline for abstract submissions is 16th of March.

Financial support

Participants are advised to use funding from their institutions to cover travel and accommodation expenses. In addition, we will be able to provide some financial support for travel and accommodation expenses. Please note that we cannot reimburse accommodation costs if you are staying at an Airbnb. Attendees giving contributed talks will be prioritised for funding. When filling the registration form, please indicate if you would like to apply for this, and estimate the required amount. You will be informed of how much funding we can offer you after registration closes.

We have allocated part of our grants to fund child-care services for visiting researchers. To take advantage of this opportunity, it is recommended that you make contact with the organisers at the earliest convenience to ensure proper arrangements are made.

Conference dinner

There will be a conference dinner on campus on the 16th of April. Everyone registered is welcome to join.

Fees and Registration

Registration to attend the conference costs £30. The deadline for registrations is 2nd of March 9th of March (extended). To register use the available forms below. If you have any questions, please contact the organisers.
